WHY MOBILE GROOMING?

For those of you that have a hard  time dealing with the long day stay and kenneling of your pet at a groom shop...mobile grooming may just be for you. 

The dogs I groom, have a one on one experience without the chaos of the noise and unavoidable confusion that takes place in a shop atmosphere. 

I was a mobile groomer shortly after I arrived in  Florida. The dogs I groomed there, I met for the 1st time.  I just thought they were great dogs.  After moving to Georgia,  I groomed and managed a shop in Alpharetta, Ga. for 2 years.  Once it closed down in November, 2008, I opened, There's No Place Like Home Mobile Grooming.  I continue to groom many of the dogs I groomed at the shop.  NOW, I can see why the mobile dogs in Florida were soo good.  It's the experience of mobile grooming itself.  The one on one experience is awesome for them.  Because I'm grooming many of the same dogs from the Alpharetta Shop, I can see the anxieties, fears and aggression some of them displayed in the shop are gone.  How can we expect them to react in any other way, when their in an environment with constant barking, and chaos.  Dogs can sense emotions we can't. 

They sense death and illness with out seeing it, that's why having them groomed at a Veterinary Hospital is never a good idea.  They can never relax, especially since sometimes they don't just get groomed, they get needles and other invasive procedures. 

I promote a comfortable environment and relationship for the dogs I groom.  I never use NOOSES around their necks on my grooming table.   I've actually heard Groomers say, "the noose keeps them safe".  That's strange since I have known of several cases over my 29 years experience, where dogs either encountered  broken necks or death due to attempting to jump off the groom table while wearing a NOOSE.   I know of one case in Alpharetta and one in Norcross since 2008.

I talk to the dogs while I groom them and kisses are abundant.  Baby Talk is also required.  They can sit, lay down, stand, walk or whatever makes them feel comfortable.  The dog shouldn't be expected to work with the Groomer, the Groomer should be expected to work with the dog.

My dematting skills are painless, however if the matts are too intense, shaving may be indicated. and you would be informed.

Because I've been in the business so long, I'm like a walking encyclopedia and I'm open to sharing that knowledge.  As a matter of fact, I'm in the process of writing a book.
